Satya Nadella Wants Microsoft To ‘Copilot’ India’s AI Journey

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has expressed his desire to become the “copilot” for India as it begins to harness the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI).

Nadella emphasized the importance of India taking advantage of AI, creating its own AI products across various sectors, and exporting them to the world.

He highlighted India’s tremendous opportunity to use general-purpose technology such as AI and generative AI in a broad sectoral way in both the public and private sectors and across industries.

Microsoft plans to invest in India on both fronts, as a source of human capital producing global products and with the latest and greatest equipment for customers like information technology services companies.

Nadella also highlighted AI’s potential to change economic productivity and said he has not seen a general-purpose technology like AI have such a broad impact. In February 2024, Nadella plans to visit India.
