RedotPay has integrated Ripple Payments to roll out “Send Crypto, Receive NGN,” a new feature that enables users to convert major cryptocurrencies into Nigerian naira and receive funds in local bank accounts in minutes.
The service supports a broad list of digital assets including USDC, USDt, Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, Tron, XRP and BNB, with Ripple USD expected to be added soon. CEO Michael Gao said RedotPay aims to make stablecoin-based transfers as simple and reliable as domestic fiat payments.
Nigeria remains one of the world’s most active crypto markets, ranking sixth on Chainalysis’ 2025 Global Adoption Index. However, regulators have tightened oversight since 2024, updating marketing and advertising rules and launching major investigations.
The government recently pursued an $81.5 billion lawsuit against Binance, accusing the exchange of damaging the naira and owing billions in unpaid taxes.
Despite these issues, officials have stated that compliant crypto and stablecoin businesses are welcome. RedotPay’s partnership with Ripple offers a regulated channel for onchain-to-fiat conversions.
