OpenSea Launches No-Fee ‘Pro’ Marketplace

OpenSea, a long-standing industry leader in NFT, today announced the launch of OpenSea Pro, a marketplace with more extensive trading capabilities than the basic edition, zero marketplace fees, and plans for NFT-based trade awards. This is part of OpenSea’s strategy to take on upstart competition Blur.

Gem V2, the improved version of the NFT marketplace aggregator that it purchased in April 2022, is now known as OpenSea Pro and has been enlarged. Co-founder and CEO Devin Finzer described the action at the time as one aimed at gaining “more experienced, “pro” users.”

Even though it is now marketed under the same brand, OpenSea Pro is still advertised as being distinct from the ordinary marketplace. According to an announcement post, OpenSea Pro aggregates listings from more than 170+ NFT marketplaces large and small, including notable platforms like Blur, LooksRare, and X2Y2.
