- JPMorgan says the crypto market’s performance in H2 2026 will largely depend on the strategy’s Bitcoin accumulation strategy and the approval prospects of the CLARITY Act.
- Investors were unsettled after Strategy sold 32 BTC, raising concerns that the company may need to sell additional Bitcoin to meet preferred stock dividend obligations.
- According to JPMorgan, Strategy currently holds roughly 6.3 months of dollar reserves, which may need to be replenished to restore investor confidence.
- Despite short-term concerns, JPMorgan expects Strategy to continue aggressively buying Bitcoin, with potential BTC purchases reaching $32 billion in 2026.
JPMorgan Chase is one of the biggest, most prominent, and oldest financial companies in the world. It serves businesses, governments, and millions of people globally with investment banking, commercial banking, asset management, and consumer financial services across more than 100 countries.
In the second half of 2026, the mood in digital currency markets may turn more cautious. It will ultimately depend on two variables, according to JPMorgan analysts. These include whether the CLARITY Act is approved this year and how Strategy controls its exposure to Bitcoin.
32 BTC Sale Raises Questions Over Strategy’s Reserves
According to research headed by Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou, the sale of 32 BTC by Strategy disrupted the market, even if it was characterized as voluntary and symbolic.
The analysts claimed that the action “spooked” investors. They said that it raised some questions about whether more Bitcoin sales would be necessary to satisfy the preferred stock dividend requirements.
According to its 8-K filing, analysts noted that Strategy had roughly 6.3 months’ worth of cash on hand to pay dividends. According to JPMorgan, the business may need to increase such resources in order to reassure investors and allay worries about potential Bitcoin shutdowns.
The analysts stated, “We believe that rebuilding the company’s dollar reserves may be necessary to restore confidence and reduce investor concerns that the company would sell more Bitcoins to cover dividend payments.”
Michael Saylor Signals More BTC Purchases Ahead
Strategy established a $1.44 billion reserve fund in December to pay for debt servicing and preferred dividend payments. Despite these concerns, JPMorgan predicts that the corporation will continue to accumulate Bitcoin holdings.
If Strategy’s acquisition rate keeps up, analysts predict that purchases of Bitcoin may reach almost $32 billion. Compared to the about $22 billion in each of the preceding two years, this is significantly greater.
In keeping with this, Michael Saylor confirmed over the weekend that more purchases will be made soon. “A good time to add more dots,” he wrote on X.

What Will Happen After The CLARITY Act?
The likelihood that the CLARITY Act would be passed this year has made JPMorgan more wary. The bank believes that the likelihood of approval has decreased from roughly 66% to less than 50%. In addition to persistent worries over stablecoin yields and other unsolved regulatory difficulties, analysts cited political unpredictability ahead of the U.S. midterm elections.
These difficulties might impede attempts to develop precise cryptocurrency rules. Additionally, JPMorgan has reduced its projection for inflows of digital assets this year to about $22 billion, indicating a more cautious picture for the bitcoin market.
