Silal Agrifood Company Launches Automated Packhouse
Silal, Abu Dhabi’s leading blockchain-enabled Agrifood and technology company, has inaugurated its automated packhouse in Al Ain, covering 12,000 square meters. The facility, which has a capacity of 325 tons per day and can produce over 180,000 packs daily, is a significant step in fresh produce packaging technology.
Silal’s blockchain-powered traceability platform helps trace the lifecycle of food from farm to fork. The facility is equipped with 28 precooling chambers and 9 cold stores, optimizing every aspect of the packaging process. Silal’s investment in this cutting-edge infrastructure reflects its vision to champion economic development while catering to consumer needs. The packhouse is a milestone in Silal’s mission to redefine standards in the fresh produce industry, setting a benchmark for quality and efficiency. In October 2023, ADQ acquired a majority stake in SAFCO Group, a leading UAE food and beverage distributor.
