The full force of investor reaction to the $6.3 billion Binance hack landed on exchange-traded funds on Friday, October 31, 2026, as Bitcoin and Ether ETFs combined to shed approximately $800 million in a single trading session.
Bitcoin ETF Outflows End Four-day Inflow Run
U.S.-listed Bitcoin ETFs recorded net outflows of $643.33 million on Friday, the first full ETF trading day following the Thursday night hack. The outflows reversed four consecutive days of net inflows worth $440.73 million, leaving the week approximately $202.6 million in the red.

BlackRock’s IBIT led individual-fund outflows at $233.70 million, followed by Fidelity’s FBTC at $201.04 million, Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB at $129.55 million, Grayscale’s GBTC at $53.32 million, and Bitwise’s BITB at $25.72 million. Total Bitcoin ETF trading volume surged to $6.35 billion, roughly three times Thursday’s level.
Ether ETFs Extend Losing Streak
The biggest outflows were seen in ether products with $155.85 million on Friday, marking a fifth straight daily outflow session. BlackRock’s ETHA led at $76.64 million exiting ether ETFs, with Grayscale’s Ether Mini Trust seeing outflows of $34.14 million, ETHB at $19.51 million, while ETHE also saw outflows of $21.51 million. Ether ETF weekly outflows totalled approximately $431.5 million.

Security Concerns For ETF Custodians
OneKey founder Yishi Wang raised a hypothetical concern that major Bitcoin ETF custodians such as BlackRock’s IBIT could become targets of future large-scale hacks. No evidence of any threat to ETF custody currently exists, and Bitcoin ETF assets are held in cold storage by regulated custodians, a fundamentally different arrangement from the hot wallets compromised in the Binance attack.
