Grayscale Adds 10 Crypto Assets To In-kind Investment Service
According to Grayscale’s October 21 announcement, the service covers Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, Dogecoin (DOGE), Avalanche (AVAX), Chainlink (LINK), Hyperliquid (HYPE), Sui (SUI) and Zcash (ZEC).
The offering lets qualified investors put in their cryptocurrencies directly to get shares in the investment products. This means they don’t have to turn their crypto into cash before investing.
There are big financial requirements to take part. The Solana Staking ETF needs a minimum of $80,300. The Bitcoin Mini Trust asks for around $364,800.

Dogecoin’s minimum is $95,550. XRP requires $257,000. Zcash needs $322,600. These amounts can change as crypto prices move. That might make it hard for smaller investors to join.
Institutional Crypto Custody Gains More Attention
The new service gives investors another way to get cryptocurrency exposure through normal investment accounts without having to manage the tokens in their own wallets.
Investors must go through authorized participants or approved intermediaries to access the offering. Owning fund shares does not mean ownership or control over the underlying cryptocurrencies. Grayscale CTO Steve Vanourny said that institutional custody is becoming more important because of cyber threats.
He also mentioned that this could help with estate planning, portfolio management and using assets as collateral. With these benefits, investors still face cryptocurrency price swings, custody risks, intermediary fees and other costs.
SEC Approval Opens The Door To More Efficient Crypto ETFs
Grayscale is expanding after the US Securities and Exchange Commission gave approval in July 2025 for creations and redemptions of eligible crypto exchange‑traded products.
The decision lets authorized participants swap the underlying cryptocurrencies directly for fund shares, which may cut down on cash‑based transactions.
SEC Chairman Paul Atkins said that the mechanism could boost efficiency and cut costs for crypto investment products. Still, transaction charges, price differences, and possible tax obligations may still apply.
