Shares of Securitize rose on Thursday after the company launched tokenized versions of major US stocks on the Solana blockchain. The new service, called Securitize Stocks, includes shares of Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft, Tesla and eight other US-listed companies. Each token is backed by the corresponding shares, and eligible investors can receive benefits such as dividends and voting rights. The tokens will initially be available for trading during extended market hours and will be settled in USDC, a stablecoin, on Solana.

The launch gives investors another way to gain exposure to traditional stocks through blockchain technology. Instead of holding the shares in the usual way, investors can hold digital tokens that represent their ownership rights.
Securitize said the tokens represent security entitlements under Article 8 of the Uniform Commercial Code. The company also plans to make them available on tokenized securities platforms being developed by the New York Stock Exchange and OKXICE. However, neither platform has announced a launch date.

Jump Trading will provide liquidity through market-making services. This is intended to help investors buy and sell the tokens. Securitize also plans to expand trading to 24 hours a day, seven days a week, although it has not given a timeline for this change.
The company is also exploring other uses for tokenized stocks. Ripple Prime plans to support the launch and explore ways to include the assets in its institutional trading services. Decentralized lending platform Aave has also been identified as a possible place where the tokenized stocks could be used as collateral for loans.
Securitize has been expanding its business through partnerships. The company has also signed an agreement with Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority to support regulated tokenization projects.
Securitize shares have gained about 54% over the past month, according to Yahoo Finance data.
The launch comes as the market for tokenized real-world assets continues to grow. Data from RWA.xyz showed that the value of distributed tokenized assets, excluding stablecoins, reached $38.88 billion on Thursday, compared with $25.36 billion a year earlier. This growth suggests that more companies are exploring ways to bring traditional financial assets onto blockchains.
