Michael Saylor’s Bitcoin treasury firm, Strategy, has extended its recent comeback to regular BTC purchases by purchasing an additional 334 Bitcoin for $28.7 million. At an average price of $85,839, the corporation purchased the coins between October 1 and October 4, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to around 848,000 BTC.
Strategy reports a $21 billion gain on digital assets in Q3 2026. Last week, we acquired 334 $BTC and repurchased $176M of $STRC. As of 10/4/26, we hold 848,000 BTC and $5.7B of USD Assets. $MSTR https://t.co/jvwiJahdMm

Simultaneously, Strategy kept repurchasing its Series A perpetual preferred stock, STRC; last week, it paid $173.7 million for almost 1.74 million shares. The most recent actions demonstrate that Strategy is striking a balance between promoting its chosen stock market and incorporating Bitcoin.
Compared to some of Strategy’s other buys, the most recent Bitcoin purchase is far smaller. The business had paid around $142.7 million for 1,665 BTC two weeks prior. With an average acquisition cost of nearly $75,440 per Bitcoin, the most recent acquisition increases the total amount spent on its Bitcoin holdings to almost $64 billion.

Strategy has recently returned to Bitcoin accumulation after a period in which it had paused purchases and sold some coins to strengthen its dollar reserves. The company has mainly used proceeds from sales of its MSTR common stock and cash reserves to finance the latest purchases.
The financing strategy has become more important because STRC, Strategy’s preferred stock, has been trading slightly below its $100 par value. The company has therefore been using available cash and other funds to buy back STRC shares. Last week’s buyback cost $173.7 million. About $80 million came from its USD Cash pool, while another $22.2 million came from interest earned on its cash holdings.
MSTR has also recovered strongly along with Bitcoin and the wider crypto market. The stock recently traded above $160 after falling below $100 earlier in the year. It has gained around 30% over the past month, although its year-to-date performance remains much more modest.

Strategy’s latest Bitcoin purchase also highlights the scale of its treasury strategy. Its 848,000 BTC represents more than 4% of Bitcoin’s fixed 21 million supply. The company’s average purchase price remains well below Bitcoin’s recent market price of around $85,000–$86,000, leaving it with a substantial unrealized gain on its holdings.
For Saylor, however, the message remains familiar. Strategy continues to present itself as a long-term Bitcoin buyer, even if individual purchases are becoming smaller. The latest filing suggests that the company is trying to keep that buying strategy going while also managing its preferred shares, cash reserves and overall funding structure.
