Canary Capital has updated its filing for a proposed Staked TRX ETF, giving investors more details about the fund’s fees and staking plans ahead of a potential launch. The latest SEC filing discloses a 1.10% management fee and says the fund expects to stake about 90% of its TRX holdings under normal conditions. The proposed ETF would track the price of TRX, the native token of the TRON network, while also allowing investors to benefit from staking rewards generated by the network.

Canary Capital filed its fourth amendment to the S-1 registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The proposed fund is expected to trade on Cboe BZX Exchange under the ticker TRXS.

The latest filing provides more clarity on how the ETF could operate if approved. One of the most notable disclosures is the 1.10% management fee. The fund will also cover ordinary operating expenses of up to $200,000 per fiscal year. The filing does not currently mention a fee waiver.

Staking is another important feature of the proposed product. Canary expects to stake around 90% of the TRX held by the ETF under normal market conditions. The staking rewards would be shared among the staking provider, sponsor and custodian.

According to the filing, total staking fees are expected to be capped at 20% of the staking rewards generated by the programme. That would leave the fund with about 80% of the staking rewards.

The filing also disclosed the planned seed investment for the ETF. Canary Capital Group intends to purchase 10,000 shares at $25 each, providing $250,000 in initial capital.

The proposed ETF comes as crypto asset managers continue looking for ways to bring more digital assets into traditional investment products. A spot TRX ETF with staking could offer investors exposure to TRX without requiring them to directly hold or stake the token themselves.

TRX has also been showing increased market activity. The token was trading around $0.337 in the material provided, while derivatives activity increased following the ETF filing. TRX futures open interest also rose, suggesting stronger interest among traders.

The market is closely watching developments around the TRON network as well. A planned upgrade is expected to improve compatibility with Ethereum-related technology, as well as security and execution consistency.

However, the ETF is not yet a certainty. The amended S-1 filing is part of the regulatory process, and further review would be required before the product can begin trading.

If approved, the Canary Staked TRX ETF would give traditional investors another route into the TRON ecosystem. More importantly, its staking component could make the product different from a simple spot ETF by potentially allowing investors to earn additional returns from the underlying network.

For TRX holders, therefore, the ETF filing is about more than just a new investment product. It could also be a sign that institutional interest in the TRON ecosystem is gradually expanding.
