JPYC Inc., the creator of Japan’s most prominent yen-pegged stablecoin, has completed an extension of its Series B financing, raising 6 billion yen (approximately $38 million to fuel further growth of its digital currency. The fresh capital pushes JPYC’s cumulative fundraising to $106 million) across seven fundraising rounds since its launch in November 2021.
The new backers is AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings, a major logistics firm in Japan that plans to start settling payments with its business partners, including Amazon Japan, directly in JPYC tokens. That commitment represents one of the first large-scale examples of a stablecoin being woven into everyday corporate payment operations anywhere in Japan.

A Logistics Giant Bets On Stablecoin Payments
AZ-COM’s involvement goes beyond just writing a check. The logistics firm intends to route payments through its sprawling network of roughly 2,300 partners, a mix of subcontractors, delivery drivers, and other operational vendors, using JPYC instead of traditional bank transfers.
For a sector built around thin margins and high transaction volume, settling through a yen-backed digital token could mean faster processing and lower friction compared to conventional payment rails. It’s a practical use case that moves stablecoins out of the realm of trading and speculation and into the everyday plumbing of business logistics.
Where JPYC Fits In Japan’s Expanding Stablecoin Market
Currently, JPYC has a market value of $55.5 million, according to the research data from CoinGecko, making it one of the largest stablecoins in terms of yen measurement in Japan. At the same time, most stablecoins are pegged to the American dollar, so coins tied to the Japanese yen have only a small share of the market.
Even so, momentum has been building domestically, with some of Japan’s largest banking institutions reportedly working toward launching their own joint yen stablecoin initiative in the near future a sign that traditional finance in Japan is warming up to blockchain-based settlement well beyond JPYC alone.
