Bitwise Asset Management, a digital asset investment firm known for issuing crypto-focused exchange-traded funds, has submitted a third amendment to its S-1 registration for a proposed spot NEAR ETF, bringing the product a step closer to trading on New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Arca.

The updated paperwork finally names the fund’s ticker, NRR, and confirms that Bitwise’s parent company has already committed seed capital by purchasing eight shares worth $200 total.

Alongside price exposure to NEAR Protocol, the fund is structured to stake the entirety of its holdings, giving investors a secondary income stream layered on top of simple market tracking. News of the filing coincided with a broader rally in NEAR’s token price, as traders reacted to both the regulatory progress and a fresh network upgrade.

Filing Details Signal The Fund Is Nearing The Finish Line

The freshly amended S-1 does more than just assign a ticker. It lays out the operational backbone of the proposed ETF, naming Bank of New York Mellon to handle cash custody, fund administration, and transfer agent duties, while Coinbase Custody will be responsible for safeguarding the underlying NEAR tokens.

What’s still missing from the paperwork is any mention of management fees or whether Bitwise plans to offer temporary fee waivers to attract early investors details that typically surface closer to a fund’s actual launch date.

The staking component, which Bitwise added as a secondary filing objective, would see the trust put 100% of its NEAR holdings to work earning network rewards rather than sitting idle.

Bitwise Isn’t The Only Issuer Chasing NEAR Exposure

This move doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Grayscale Investments has also been amending its own NEAR ETF filing with regulators recently, a sign that competition to capture institutional appetite for NEAR-based products is heating up.

Much of that renewed interest ties back to growing enthusiasm around artificial intelligence-linked blockchain projects, a theme that’s gained extra momentum following the high-profile SpaceX IPO frenzy sweeping through markets.
