Evgeny Gaevoy: “We never had plans to sue Binance, nor see any reason to do it in future”
On Oct. 10, 2025 the crypto markets experienced a record flash crash – in excess of $20 billion in leveraged positions were liquidated. Wintermute, a leading crypto-market-maker headed by Evgeny Gaevoy – was said to have been severely affected on Binance through its automatic-deleverage / ADL system, and to be preparing a legal claim against Binance. In quick response to the rumors Gaevoy denied them on X: “We never had plans to sue Binance, nor see any reason to do it in future.”
He further described Wintermute as “perfectly fine” and said the firm did not intend any legal action despite the liquidity event.
