Winklevoss-Owned Gemini To Launch Trading Competition
Gemini Foundation, founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, is set to launch its first trading competition next month. The international crypto derivatives exchange aims to attract new users by leveraging the competition. The Gemini Leaderboard competition, set to launch on August 1, 2023, will track crypto traders’ performance and reward top-performing traders. The platform will host multiple competitions with unique rules, objectives, and duration, with the best traders receiving up to 250 GUSD daily. The competition is not available for users in the US, UK, or EU.
Traders must fund their derivatives account with 250 GUSD before the end of the month and maintain it throughout the competition. The first competition ends on August 31, 2023. Gemini’s trading volume has declined by over 87% over the past year, from $147 million to almost $18 million. The exchange currently holds $6.4 billion worth of crypto.
