UP Govt Approves Research Studies On AI
In an effort to promote technology, the Uttar Pradesh government’s Department of Science and Technology has approved over 100 research studies by eminent educational institutions, including IIT-Kanpur, MNNIT, and KGMU, on using technologies like artificial intelligence and block chain in fields like healthcare and renewable energy.
These studies attempt to create systems and apps for early throat cancer detection in smokers, improving desk workers’ posture while they sit, helping the disabled with specialized wheelchairs, etc.

A meeting in Lucknow approved 109 research proposals, the highest number in the country, at a meeting chaired by Narendra Bhooshan, Principal Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology and Director General of the Council of Science and Technology. The studies, which would cost ₹14 crore, were aimed at addressing health issues caused by desk workers working long hours and sitting at the same seat, such as back pain and spondylitis.
