Solana Seeker Blockchain Smartphone To Launch Mid-2025
By Vishakha Thakur
Solana Mobile, a subsidiary of Solana Labs, is set to launch its second blockchain smartphone, Seeker Mobile, in mid-2025, targeting the Web3 market with upgraded features. Solana Mobile is known for developing mobile software and devices.
The device, priced at $500, has already garnered over 145,000 pre-orders, indicating stronger demand compared to Saga. Market participants are closely watching the impact of this launch on Solana’s native token, SOL, which is currently trading at $195. Analysts suggest the launch could trigger a rally, with some predicting a potential rise toward $400.
Antoly Yakovenko, the founder of Solana had hoped to sell between 25,000 and 50,000 units of the first blockchain phone, Saga, to create a user base that would encourage developers to create apps for the device. However, the Saga phone sold only 2,500 units due to design flaws.
Well, building on the lessons from its predecessor, Seeker Mobile has introduced enhancements aimed at improving user experience and market appeal. Key features of Seeker include the Seed Vault Wallet, developed with Solflare for secure private key storage, and an upgraded dApp Store 2.0, offering DeFi, NFT, gaming, and AI integrations with no fees. Buyers will also receive a Seeker Genesis Token, an NFT designed to unlock exclusive rewards and events within the Solana ecosystem. Hardware improvements include a slimmer design, enhanced display, better camera, and longer battery life.
All in all, the Seeker Mobile’s focus on security, usability, and integration with Solana’s ecosystem positions it as a potential growth driver for the network and its token.
