Following a sharp fall in the cryptocurrency market, Ethereum treasury company Sharplink has declared a net loss of $734.6 million for 2025.
According to the company, its paper loss of $616.2 million on the Ethereums in its treasury accounted for much of the loss. Presently, Sharplink possesses roughly 868,699 ETH.
2025 was a turbulent year for Ethereum. Before plummeting amid a market meltdown in October, the price peaked in August at $4,829. The cost had decreased to about $3,000 by the end of the year.
Additionally, Sharplink reported an impairment charge of $140.2 million for converting its staked Ether.
Despite these losses, the company said it will continue to pursue its Ethereum-focused treasury strategy. The company argues that short-term volatility is common in the cryptocurrency market and that its long-term approach is sound.
Sharplink’s chair is Joseph Lubin, a co-founder of Ethereum. In 2025, the business changed its focus from marketing sports bets to treasury services for digital assets.
Despite the market downturn affecting its financial results, Sharplink reported strong revenue growth. The company’s overall revenue climbed from $3.7 million to $28.1 million in 2025.
