Pump.fun’s Daily Revenue Jumps To $14mn On Jan. 2.
Solana memecoin platform Pump.fun had a strong start to 2024, generating over $14 million in revenue on Jan. 2 as memecoins continue their momentum.
Data from Dune Analytics and decentralized finance (DeFi) tracker DefiLlama revealed that the Solana-based memecoin launchpad generated 72,506 Solana in fees at the start of the year. With SOL trading above $200, the platform’s revenue exceeded $14 million, its highest daily revenue since launch.
The memecoin generator also continued its dominance in Solana decentralized exchange (DEX) transactions. According to Dune Analytics data, Pump.fun ended December with 52.8% of all transactions in Solana-based DEXs.
Crypto Hacks, Scam Losses Reach $29mn In December, Lowest In 2024.
Losses to crypto scams, exploits, and hacks tapered off in the last months of 2024, with December registering the smallest amount stolen.
Blockchain security firm CertiK said in a Dec. 31 post on X that there were $28.6 million in known losses to exploits, hacks, and scams in December, compared with $63.8 million in November and $115.8 million in October.
According to the firm, exploits comprised the bulk of the losses, with $26.7 million stolen by attackers in December.
Hive Digital Moves HQ To Texas, Citing Supportive Climate Under Trump.
Bitcoin mining firm Hive Digital said it will relocate its headquarters to Texas from Vancouver, Canada, citing President-elect Donald Trump’s pro-Bitcoin stance as a key reason.
In a Dec. 31 statement, Hive Digital Technologies (HIVE) said the forthcoming Trump administration has promoted innovation and a more friendly regulatory landscape for Bitcoin miners.
HIVE wrote that Texas stood out as a clear choice for the new headquarters due to its “supportive business climate, energy infrastructure, and access to skilled talent.”
Maharashtra To Roll Out First AI Policy, IT Dept To Unveil Draft Later This Year.
In a move to position Maharashtra as the frontrunner in technological innovation, information and technology minister Ashish Shelar has directed his department to draft the state’s first independent AI policy. This policy will incorporate stakeholder input while aligning with the state’s economic and social priorities. Experts and industry leaders will review it before finalisation, with an expected unveiling later this year.
Chairing a meeting at the Sahyadri Guest House, Shelar stressed the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and outlined the need for a comprehensive roadmap to harness its benefits. Parrag Jaiin Nainutia, the secretary of the IT department, Jayshree Bhoj, the managing director of MahaIT, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
