MetaPoint $POT Exploited For $1mn In $BNB
As a result of an attack on April 11, 2,515 BNB tokens worth $1 million were lost. The threat actor inserted these assets into Tornado Cash, an asset mixer, to conceal the beneficiaries’ addresses and prevent tracing. Although the project has made plans for a refund or other kind of compensation for harmed users, MetaPoint has acknowledged the exploit and published an official statement regarding the situation despite this.
In the most recent hack, the POT smart contract on the MetaPoint platform was utilised. The platform instantaneously creates a new contract for the recipient of the funds as soon as a user adds assets. The hackers took advantage of this technique and diverted deposits away from the primary contract and into their own smart contract. Following the attack, the MetaPoint team reported the incident and suspended all activities on their channels.
