Ludhiana Gets India’s First Metaverse-Powered Virtual Model Polling Booth
The Ludhiana administration in India has organized the first metaverse-powered virtual model polling booth and live band to raise voter awareness.
The “Ludhiana 70 paar” event was organized in collaboration with mall management under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme.
The goal is to achieve over 70% voter turnout during the Lok Sabha elections. The event included the launch of India’s first metaverse-powered virtual model polling booth, bhangra performances by BCM Arya Senior Secondary School students, and a live band performance by Rock Fluid band.
The administration and election observers urged residents to use the website voteforludhiana.in, which allows voters to track the crowd at polling centers.
District election officer Sakshi Sawhney and police commissioner Kuldeep Singh Chahal visited the strong rooms and counting centers to assess the ongoing arrangements.
The DEO directed authorities to maintain strict vigilance on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and create an appropriate security deployment plan. CCTV cameras were installed and police personnel were asked to provide extra vigilant rooms.
