Glassnode Sells Bitcoin Tax Software to Blockpit
Cryptocurrency intelligence firm Glassnode has sold its crypto-focused tax platform, Accointing, to European crypto compliance provider Blockpit for a “multimillion-dollar deal”.
The acquisition follows Glassnode’s acquisition of Accointing in October 2022 to introduce tax-reporting compliance tools.
Blockpit’s acquisition of Accointing marks another foray into merging with competitors, as the platform previously merged with German rival Cryptotax in 2020.
The acquisition aims to create a consolidated and unified crypto tax platform for Europe. Blockpit co-founder and CEO Florian Wimmer said Accointing users could migrate their profiles and data to a new account, allowing them to focus on developing a unified platform, delivering more features, and improving customer experience.
The deal’s timing coincides with upcoming regulations like the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF) and the Directive on Administrative Cooperation (DAC8), which require crypto asset service providers to report user Know Your Customer data alongside transaction data to tax authorities starting 2026.
