French financial powerhouse BPCE is set to launch crypto trading functionality for retail clients through its Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Épargne mobile apps beginning Monday.
The service will allow users to buy and sell BTC, ETH, SOL, and USDC through a separate digital-asset account managed by Hexarq.
Four regional banks—including Banque Populaire Île-de-France and Caisse d’Épargne Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur—will participate in the pilot program, which will initially reach around 2 million customers.
BPCE expects to expand access across its entire 12-million-customer network by 2026. The move marks one of Europe’s largest bank-led crypto rollouts to date.
