Elon Musk Says AI Will Take All Our Jobs
Elon Musk has expressed concerns about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on jobs, predicting that “probably none of us will have a job.” He envisions a future where jobs would be “optional,” with AI and robots providing goods and services as desired. To achieve this, Musk suggests universal high income, which would be a government-provided amount to everyone regardless of their income.
As AI capabilities increase, concerns continue to mount over how various industries and jobs will change. Researchers at MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab found that workplaces are adopting AI more slowly than anticipated, and many previously vulnerable jobs were not economically beneficial for employers to automate. Musk’s biggest fear is the technology, and he cites Ian Banks’ “Culture Book Series” as the most realistic envisioning of a future AI.
