Dencun Update Set To Boost Ethereum’s Ecosystem
Grayscale Research has highlighted Ethereum’s upcoming Dencun upgrade as a significant step towards addressing its scalability challenges.
The upgrade, scheduled for March 13th, 2024, is expected to help Ethereum compete with faster chains like Solana.
This upgrade, along with the Ethereum 2.0 initiative, marks a milestone in Ethereum’s journey towards becoming a more scalable, efficient, and user-friendly platform.
Ethereum currently leads in developers and applications, providing a robust environment for interoperability and innovation.
Its $51.10 Billion Total Value Locked (TVL) at press time is over five times that of Tron, its next largest competitor.
Grayscale also highlighted the potential of Ethereum’s Layer 2s, such as Optimism and Arbitrum, which have attracted liquidity that rivals some of its largest Layer 1 competitors.
