Deal Corner- Microsoft Partners With Vodafone On Generative AI Integration

Microsoft and Vodafone have announced a 10-year strategic partnership, involving the integration of generative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.

Vodafone plans to invest $1.5 billion over the next decade in cloud and customer-focused AI services developed with Microsoft, while Microsoft will leverage Vodafone’s fixed and mobile connectivity services.

The government of the Netherlands will set aside $222.07 million, according to a Jan. 18 announcement from the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The funds aim to foster local investment in artificial intelligence (AI) and help the Netherlands “not to remain stuck on the sidelines” when it comes to AI. 

Hong Kong Crypto Exchange HashKey Becomes Crypto Unicorn After $100 mn Raise

HashKey Group, which operates the Hong Kong-based crypto exchange, has “nearly” met its $100 million fundraising target, the firm said on Tuesday.

HashKey announced the fundraising round in August, shortly after it won a license from Hong Kong’s security regulator to offer retail crypto trading. The firm did not disclose the investors in the round and now has a valuation of $1.2 billion post-raise, giving it a “unicorn” status.

Flowdesk Raises $50 mn in Series B Round Featuring Ripple And Others

French crypto market maker Flowdesk has raised $50 million in a Series B funding round, led by Cathay Innovation.

The round, which commenced in June and concluded in November, saw participation from Cathay Ledger Fund, Eurazeo, ISAI, Speedinvest, Ripple, and Bpifrance.
