Circle has become the largest provider of tokenized U.S. Treasury exposure after its USYC tokenized fund grew to approximately $2.2 billion in supply.
The growth pushed the fund ahead of BlackRock’s BUIDL tokenized Treasury product, which currently holds around $2 billion in assets. The overall market for tokenized Treasury instruments has now reached a record value of more than $11 billion.
Tokenized Treasuries are digital assets backed by traditional government securities. They allow investors to earn interest while keeping their capital on blockchain networks, making them attractive to both crypto traders and institutional investors.
The expansion of the sector highlights growing demand for real-world assets within decentralized finance ecosystems. Investors increasingly use tokenized Treasury products as collateral in trading strategies or as a relatively stable place to store funds during periods of market volatility.
