Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest Buys $2.2 mn of Coinbase Shares.
Cathie Wood’s investment management business ARK Invest acquired approximately $2.2 million in Coinbase (COIN) shares, its first buy since Sept. 11.
ARKF added 12,994 COIN shares on Tuesday. COIN fell 0.73% to $167.69. ARKF has $67 million in COIN shares, 7.43% of its assets.
COIN is up 6.5% since ARK bought shares, but down 20% since late August.
Bitcoin Protocol Babylon Pulls In $1.5 bn of Staking Deposits As Cap Lifted.
Babylon, a Bitcoin staking platform that provides the original blockchain’s security to new protocols and decentralized apps, received $1.5 billion in bitcoin on Tuesday after temporarily opening to new deposits.
Babylon’s staking dashboard showed 18,601 BTC staked as of 20:03 UTC (4:03 p.m. ET), with 5,419 BTC in the queue.
Canary Capital Follows Bitwise In Filing For Spot XRP ETF.
The second crypto investing company to bid for an XRP ETF in seven days is Canary Capital.
Canary Capital told the SEC on Oct. 8 that the ETF would allow investors to buy and retain XRP “through a traditional brokerage account without the potential barriers to entry or risks involved with acquiring and holding XRP directly.”
Blockchain Activity Soars 70% in Q3 Driven By AI DApps.
In the third quarter of 2024, blockchain activity powered by AI apps boosted DApps.
Daily unique active wallets (UAWs) hit a record 17.2 million on Oct. 8, up 70% from the previous quarter, according to DappRadar.
A 71% increase in AI-related DApps, accounting for approximately 4.3 million daily UAWs, drove the boost.
