With the announcement that it now owns 4.47 million ETH, or roughly $9.9 billion, Bitmine Immersion Technologies is increasing its stake in Ethereum.
In order to increase its holdings and get closer to its ambitious “Alchemy of 5%” objective, the corporation just bought 50,928 more ETH. The strategy is to amass about 5% of the total amount of Ethereum in circulation.
Bitmine is now one of the biggest corporate Ethereum holders, with holdings that account for about 3.7% of all ETH in circulation.
Staking its assets is a crucial component of the company’s strategy. Presently, more than 3 million tokens, or 68% of Bitmine’s ETH holdings, are staked, bringing in an estimated $172 million annually.
It is interesting to note that this growth coincides with negative sentiment in the Ethereum market. Many short-term investors are holding ETH at a loss, according to on-chain data. Recently, the 30-day MVRV ratio fell to very negative values, which is an indication of market capitulation.
Sentiment indexes, however, are starting to improve, indicating that market confidence may gradually rebound.
Bitmine’s aggressive accumulation technique is like that of Bitcoin companies, however, it is used for Ethereum.
