Bitcoin’s First Wallet Receives $1.17 mn
An unidentified Bitcoin user sent 26.9 Bitcoin worth $1.17 million to the Genesis wallet, the first wallet on the Bitcoin network established by Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin.
The Bitcoin transaction took place on January 5 at 1:52 a.m. Eastern Time. The transaction transferred the money from an empty wallet to the Genesis wallet, along with a $100 transaction fee, which was significantly higher than average.
The wallet was initially funded by transferring funds from three wallets to 12 others. An Arkham Intelligence blockchain analytics platform wallet linked to Binance provided the majority of the funds.
The most recent transaction increased the current balance to 99.67 Bitcoin, which is worth approximately $4.3 million.
