Bitcoin Ordinal Inscriptions Defy Downturn
The number of Ordinal inscriptions on the Bitcoin blockchain has surpassed the 36 million mark, indicating a shift from the month-long decline in daily onchain inscription issuances.
The decline began on September 24, 2023, with 440,760 inscriptions orchestrated within a 24-hour span. The period then saw a significant decline, reaching a low on October 13, with less than 10,000 inscriptions minted.
However, a week later, a potential renaissance began, with 74,257 inscriptions sent to the Bitcoin blockchain on October 24. Since then, daily inscriptions have consistently surpassed the 125,000 threshold. This trend is re-emerging, with over 29,000 to 40,000 unconfirmed transactions in a holding pattern awaiting miner validation.
Starting October 25, the Bitcoin blockchain has risen from 250,000 to 300,000 transactions per day to 400,000-475,000 transfers per day. Bitcoin miners have amassed 2,137 BTC, valued at approximately $72 million, solely from inscription minting. On October 28, the tally of daily inscriptions ascended to 283,950, surpassing October 25 by 99,470 inscriptions.
