Asia-Pacific (APAC) countries have unveiled ambitious AI strategies to position the region as a global leader in innovation and adoption. At the APEC CEO Summit, Deloitte’s global AI head Nitin Mittal predicted that Asia would outperform both Europe and the United States in AI advancement by 2030, citing the region’s strong tech talent pool and infrastructure investments.
The Summit also emphasized cross-border partnerships to promote ethical AI development and open-source collaboration, with Japan, South Korea, and China identified as key players in shaping AI norms.
Concurrently, the United States and the UAE have entered into a bilateral AI-energy agreement to combine artificial intelligence and renewable energy technologies for sustainable growth.
Experts noted that such partnerships reflect a growing consensus that true AI progress requires cooperation among nations rather than competition.
