AI Is Too Expensive To Replace Humans In Jobs For Now
A study from MIT suggests that Artificial Intelligence may still be costly for companies to replace human workers in computer vision jobs in the US.
AI can cost-effectively replace only 23% of workers’ wages, and in some cases, human workers are still more economical due to the high cost of installing and operating AI-assisted visual recognition technology.
The study predicts that it will take decades for computer vision tasks to become financially efficient, even with a 20% drop in cost per year.
