Celebrity NFTs: A Matter Of Owner’s Pride

Celebrity NFTs are fast turning into an enviable asset class in the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector. In recent years, a large number of well-known celebrities have adopted and created NFT digital assets for a variety of reasons, some more evident than others. Celebrities can utilize NFTs to display their creativity, interact with fans, and promote charitable causes. Here are the top 10 celeb NFTs:

  • Mike Tyson

On August 19, 2021, Mike Tyson, one of the greatest boxers of all times, released a number of NFTs. There are six special edition NFTs with approximately 300 copies, 11 1-of-1 NFTs in the Mike Tyson NFT collection, which was created by Cory Van Lew.

Some of the most memorable moments in Mike Tyson’s boxing career have been enhanced by Cory Van Lew’s artistic touch. He used neon-colored graphics to depict Mike Tyson’s years of triumph, including some of his most notable knockouts, championship victories, and of course, the “Ear-biting” incident.

  • Paris Hilton

In April 2021, hotel heiress Paris Hilton debuted her own NFT line called “Planet Paris” on Nifty Gateway. Three items from her collection were “Hummingbird in My Metaverse,” “Legend of Love,” and “Iconic Crypto Queen.”

The last item was a one-of-a-kind that sold at auction for a staggering $1.11 million, while the first two were sold in multiple editions for $10,000 apiece. The winning bidder was an unidentified person going by the handle “Adirolls.”

  • Robert De Niro

Following a collaboration with LIT DAO, two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro became the face of an NFT line. The Hollywood star’s face moves in response to the current price of Ethereum in the collection “Motion.”

Many of his admirers were pleasantly surprised by The Motion NFT Collection, which sought to depict an original interaction between market swings and emotional variability. The Motion NFT Collection was put up on OpenSea with a minting cost just around 0.068 ETH, or about $200 at the time.

  • Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg, an American rapper and music producer, has uploaded his NFT collections on OpenSea. The artist’s early memories are featured in “A Journey with the Dogg,” one of his most important debuts.

The collection includes “Snoop Dogge Coins” that were created specially to appeal to Dogecoin (DOGE) lovers and aficionados. Snoop Dogg Passport Series, the rapper’s latest NFT collection, is anticipated to increase in value and usefulness when he starts a summer tour.

  • Lindsay Lohan

Actress and singer Lindsay Lohan raised over $50,000 for charity after selling her first NFT piece, “Lindsay Lightning,” for over $50,000. Since then, she has developed into an ardent collector, investor, and NFT maker. She also created and sold the NFT of her dog called fursona.

  • LeBron James

 The most expensive NFT ever sold by LeBron James, the greatest basketball player of all time, went for almost $200,000 in 2021 and featured a slam honoring Kobe Bryant. James joined Matt Damon and Snoop Dogg as ambassadors for Crypto.com in 2023.

The NBA’s reigning champion also collaborated with Crypto.com to launch his own NFT line, “The Moment of Truth,” which was given out to followers who found a QR code in their Super Bowl ad.

  • Tony Hawk 

Tony Hawk, a famed professional skateboarder, is also one of the most well-known players in the NFT industry. In 2022, Hawk garnered attention with his NFT collection called Autograph “The Last Trick Skateboard.” 

Hawk’s most famous moves, including the Front Side Cab, Finger Flip, Gymnast Plant, Magic Dance, and Varial 5, were included in the compilation. These NFTs were offered in mystery packages for $40.

  • Gary Vaynerchuk

Gary Vaynerchuk is a businessman, social media influencer, author, speaker, and ardent supporter of NFTs and cryptocurrencies. The well-known Gary Vee has developed a sizable NFT portfolio worth more than $107 million over the years. VeeFriends, an NFT venture started by Gary Vee, gives customers access to his communities and events.

  • Grimes 

Grimes, a musician and producer who is frequently referred to as the “NFT WarNymph of the Music World,” has earned a reputation as one of the industry’s forerunners.

On Nifty Gateway, Grimes published and marketed her own NFT collection titled “WarNymph.” Ten works of digital art, some with exclusive Grimes music, were included in the collection. This exhibition generated $5.8 million in revenue in 2021 and sold out in 20 minutes.

  • Floyd Mayweather

Renowned boxer Mayweather intends to keep examining the NFT market with the goal of developing a platform that would enable superstars to interact with their followers through distinctive digital experiences.

Fans can buy and own special souvenirs, such as digital trading cards and artwork, that Mayweather has published as a sign of their support.
