Metaverse Market Cap Surpasses $14bn; SAND & MANA Lead the Charge

The metaverse economy has surged past the $14 bn mark, driven by soaring interest in digital assets and immersive platforms. Leading the rally, Sandbox’s SAND jumped by an impressive 29.4%, followed by Decentraland’s MANA with a 21.8% gain, and Floki Inu rising 15.6%. Other notable performers include Axie Infinity’s AXS and Enjin Coin, both rising over 14% in the past seven days.
And now, let’s take a look at what’s happening in the metaverse space.
Well, the University of Glasgow has unveiled the ‘Lord Kelvin metaverse’ museum. Lord Kelvin, whose real name was William Thomson, was a pioneer of electric light and made important contributions to the study of electricity. In fact, he became one of the 19th century’s most accomplished scientists. Part of a £5.6 million project, this metaverse-based exhibit offers a digital journey through Kelvin’s laboratory, showcasing rare instruments of the past. The virtual exhibition features a series of digitised scientific instruments and artifacts related to the scientist’s work, many of which are not normally on public display.
While academia is focusing on virtual history, Shiba Inu keeps the metaverse community buzzing with new initiatives. In an interesting move, Shiba Inu is set to launch its TREAT token, an innovative governance and utility asset designed to strengthen its ecosystem, enhance user engagement and liquidity.
