PUBG Creator Krafton Unveils ‘Overdare’ NFT Game
South Korean game studio Krafton has announced its upcoming NFT-driven metaverse game project, Overdare, which will launch in December and release between January and July 2024. Previously known as Project Migaloo, Overdare is a creation-centric platform built with Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5 and offers generative artificial intelligence tools for gamers to craft their own shooter games, role-playing games, and action RPGs. The platform also allows users to create custom avatars and chat with each other.
The first official teaser trailer for Overdare, an open-world platform, suggests users can build games and environments using AI tools, play user-generated games, attend virtual concerts, and customize avatars. The project is a joint venture between Krafton and Naver Z, an AR tech firm. Overdare plans to offer a “create-to-earn” game economy, where players can buy and sell in-game digital assets as NFTs, ensuring transparency and secure transactions. Krafton holds an 85% stake in the project.
