XRHealth’s VR Technology Reduces Stress and Anxiety In Patients
By Shikha Singh
Around 800,000 people commit suicide annually, with 164,033 Indians killed in 2021. 6.8 million US adults suffer from generalised anxiety disorder, while social anxiety affects 15 million adults. Access to affordable, effective treatments is crucial for those struggling with Agoraphobia where they can’t socialize with other people can’t go out and other mental health issues.
What is I tell you?? The metaverse can be fairly helpful in these cases by utilising AR and VR technologies to assist those who are struggling with mental health difficulties.
It has been tested to provide patients with mental health therapies in their homes by XRHealth, a telemedicine startup that employs a VR platform. 61 people who only got “virtual retail therapy,” often known as VR treatment, in the metaverse participated in the study. The participants ranged in age from 15.7 to 45.7 years, and they identified as men and women in a variety of ways. The VR study gave the subjects tranquil surroundings, prompted controlled breathing, increased awareness, and enhanced physical fitness.
Participants reported a 34% decrease in anxiety, specifically Generalised Anxiety Disorder, after the metaverse therapy research. They also saw a 32% reduction in stress levels. Most importantly, those aged 18 to 24 reported a significant 73% drop in stress levels!
In order to provide patients with comprehensive therapeutic care solutions, XRHealth combines licenced professionals with cutting-edge data analytics. Additionally, patients from all over the world can receive care in the convenience of their own homes, thanks to the ability to digitally connect with doctors and other medical professionals.
Now, with the mental health work in the metaverse, we could be looking toward a brighter future.
