Bitcoin.com is integrating USDU, a US dollar-backed stablecoin registered with the Central Bank of the UAE, into its self-custodial web and mobile wallet. The move gives users access to a regulated digital dollar for holding, sending and receiving, while Bitcoin.com plans to add swap and buy-and-sell features later through third-party providers. USDU is issued by Abu Dhabi-based Universal Digital and is currently the first and only Foreign Payment Token registered under the UAE central bank’s Payment Token Services Regulation.
USDU is now available in the @BitcoinCom Wallet.

USDU is also regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Abu Dhabi Global Market, which oversees Universal Digital’s issuance of fiat-referenced tokens.
According to Bitcoin.com, the Ethereum-based stablecoin will initially allow users to hold, send and receive USDU through the wallet. Additional trading and conversion functions are expected to be introduced later, subject to availability in different jurisdictions.
Bitcoin.com also plans to accept USDU for designated services and work towards enabling payments between users and merchants across its products. The company said availability will depend on local regulatory requirements.
Universal launched USDU in January as part of its push to build a regulated dollar-backed digital asset in the UAE. Under the country’s Payment Token Services Regulation, payments for digital assets and digital-asset derivatives can be made only in fiat currency or a registered Foreign Payment Token.
That regulatory status gives USDU a particular role in the UAE’s developing digital-asset market. Rather than simply offering another dollar-pegged token, Universal is positioning USDU within the country’s formal regulatory framework for payment tokens.
The Bitcoin.com integration is part of a broader effort to expand USDU’s distribution. Zodia Custody added support for the stablecoin in July, allowing institutional customers to hold and transfer the token.
USDU has also gained access to decentralised liquidity. A USDT-USDU liquidity pool was launched on Uniswap in August, giving traders another route to exchange the regulated stablecoin.
For Bitcoin.com users, the integration could make a regulated UAE-issued dollar token easier to access through a self-custodial wallet. Users retain control of their wallet assets rather than relying on a centralised platform to hold them.
For USDU, its availability through Bitcoin.com adds another distribution channel at a time when the UAE is seeking to strengthen its position as a regulated digital-asset hub.
