Wormhole Integrates Native USDC Transfers
According to a Sept. 20 statement, Wormhole has integrated Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP), enabling USD Coin to be exchanged between Ethereum, Avalanche, Arbitrum, and Optimism via Wormhole-based bridges.
End users can access the new feature through the Portal bridge, while programmers can utilize Wormhole Connect to incorporate it into their own applications.
According to the Wormhole team, the new integration will lessen user confusion and liquidity problems. Multiple versions of these bridges USDC coins may exist on these new and developing chains, according to the statement, “which can lead to fragmented liquidity, poor pricing, and a confusing experience for users and developers alike.” By “creating a natively cross-chain USDC that can be burned and minted across connected chains,” it claimed that CCTP would aid in solving this issue.
