Web3 Diaries-SEC Issues First Enforcement Action Targeting NFTs
U.S. regulators ordered a Los Angeles-based company that issued non-fungible tokens to compensate investors who bought the NFTs, arguing that the transactions were illegal unregistered securities offerings. It was the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s first NFT-related enforcement action.
The SEC’s findings do not suggest regulators consider all NFTs to be securities, limiting the potential consequences of the action.
According to a statement released by the markets regulator on Monday, the California-based media business Impact Theory made close to $30 million from the sale of three tiers of NFT products that the SEC assessed to be securities.

The makers of the ChatGPT artificial intelligence tool, OpenAI, have introduced ChatGPT Enterprise, a chatbot for enterprises that is allegedly quicker, more secure, and more powerful.
The firm explained in an Aug. 28 post that ChatGPT Enterprise offers unlimited access to GPT-4 at up to twice the performance speed and can process 32,000 token context windows for inputs.
As one token corresponds to about four characters of English text, the 32,000 model can thus process roughly 24,000 words of text in a single input — about four times more than the standard GPT-4.
SUI, HBAR Price Drop Ahead Of Token Unlock
Sui (SUI) and Hedera (HBAR) token prices are falling as both projects face an increase in circulating supply later this week.
Both have scheduled token unlocks, in which early investors and project team members prevented from selling are finally allowed to do so. They’re put in place to curb selling pressure on tokens.
Sui is down 7% in daily trading, currently trading for $0.54, according to data from CoinDesk Indices, while HBAR is down 4% at $0.05.
