Only five hours after the cryptocurrency betting platform Stake was hacked to the tune of $41.3 million, according to blockchain security firms, the company has reopened deposits and withdrawals and restarted services for customers.
A few hours after the platform acknowledged that multiple unlawful transactions were carried out on Stake’s ETH/BTC hot wallets, the company stated that full services have restored at 9:28 p.m. UTC on September 4.
Australia Senate Committee Rejects Crypto Bill From Opposition Senator Andrew Bragg
The opposition senator Andrew Bragg’s “The Digital Assets (Market Regulation) Bill 2023” was rejected by Australia’s Senate Economics Legislation Committee. Instead, the committee recommended that the government “continue to consult with industry on the development of fit-for-purpose digital assets regulation in Australia.”
The committee’s report is partisan in nature. New South Wales representative Bragg slammed the decision, claiming that the Labor administration had “put regulating crypto in the slow lane.”
Cronos Labs Searches Participants in $100M Accelerator Program
Cronos Labs, the Blockchain network developer, has started looking for eight startups to take part in the third cohort of its $100 million accelerator program aimed at supporting early stage crypto projects.
The recruitment phase of the 12-week program commenced Sept. 4 to coincide with the start of Korea Blockchain Week, which runs until Sept. 10, and has a particular focus on artificial intelligence, according to the CoinDesk report.
