 Web3 Diaries-BTC Could Rise To $120K By 2024:SC

Bitcoin, the world’s largest cryptocurrency, could surge to $50,000 by end of this year and up to $120,000 by end of 2024, Standard Chartered Bank indicated in a research report on Monday.

Standard Chartered Bank increased its forecast of bitcoin price from the $100,000 predicted in April.

The British multinational bank said at the time that bitcoin had potential to reach that level because of various reasons, one of them being the banking-sector crisis.

“We now think this estimate is too conservative, and we therefore see upside to our end-2024 target,” the report said.

Grayscale Bitcoin Trust Discount Narrows To Lowest Since May 2022

Following asset management BlackRock’s (BLK) proposal to create a spot bitcoin ETF in the United States, the discount to net asset value (NAV) for the $19 billion-plus Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) continues to decrease.

The discount to NAV had risen to about 50% late last year and spent the majority of 2023 in a range on either side of 40%, but began a dramatic closing trend following BlackRock’s mid-June filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). According to Ycharts statistics, it plummeted as low as 26% last week – the lowest level since May 2022 – and now stands around 27%.

Starbucks Teams Up With Micah Johnson’s Aku NFT Project

On its dedicated Discord channel, Starbucks’ Web3 loyalty programme Odyssey announced a new cooperation with non-fungible token (NFT) collection Aku for its latest digital collectable Stamp.

The Aku collection, designed by former Major League Baseball player Micah Johnson, focuses on inspiring young children to dream big, and NFTs from the collection have been purchased by celebrities like as Trevor Noah, Pusha T, and Tyra Banks.

Starbucks will launch a new Journey named “Aku Adventure” on July 17, allowing Odyssey members to “embark on a mission with Aku.” The new Stamp was “designed by Aku” and the Journey will be available to Odyssey members until August 13, 2023, according to the Discord thread.
