Web3 Diaries-BlackRock Refiles Spot BTC

BlackRock’s proposed bitcoin exchange traded fund application has been refiled by the Nasdaq exchange and names its rival the U.S. exchange Coinbase as the market that will be monitored in a so-called surveillance-sharing agreement.

Refiled application by Nasdaq to list a BlackRock bitcoin ETF follows a report last week that the SEC deemed earlier proposals “inadequate” since they didn’t specify the name of the underlying market in so-called surveillance-sharing agreements, which are supposed to help guard against market manipulation.

Many other pending applications including BlackRock’s rival Fidelity has since been updated to name Coinbase as the surveillance-sharing agreement partner.

Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT Floor Price Plummets To 20-Month Low

The floor price of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) non-fungible token (NFT) collection plunged below 30 ETH, approximately worth $58,700, on Sunday, replicating a new low not seen since October 2021.

According to OpenSea, BAYC has undergone a decline in the average price of its NFTs, imitating a broader decline in the NFT market and reflecting an impact of and extended crypto winter that has crushed the price of Ethereum, which powers many NFT collections.

Other main NFT collections like MoonBirds, Azuki and Doodles have also experience decline in its floor price in recent months.

Gemini’s Winklevoss Final $1.5Bn Offer For Genesis

Crypto exchange Gemini co-founder Cameron Winklevoss has offered $1.5 billion in forbearance payments and fresh loans in an effort to finalise debt-restructuring plan of the bankrupt digital-asset firm Genesis.

On Monday, Winklevoss posted to Twitter an “Open Letter to Barry Silbert,” the founder of Digital Currency Group (DCG), which owns Genesis as well as the giant crypto asset manager Grayscale.

Winklevoss regretted delays on the part of DCG to come up with a satisfactory plan to repay Genesis creditors, including customers of Gemini’s Earn program. DCG also missed a payment of $630 million to Genesis.
