Web3 Diaries- Vitalik Buterin Sells His Remaining MakerDAO Tokens

Blockchain data reveals that Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, sold all 500 of his remaining MakerDAO tokens today on the CoW Protocol for 353 ETH, or nearly $580,000.

The decision was made in response to Rune Christensen, co-founder and CEO of MakerDAO, who wrote a blog post on Friday outlining long-term plans for reimplementing the project on a new blockchain called NewChain that may branch from the Solana network.

The project, now written in Solidity and built on Ethereum, would benefit greatly from a switch to the Solana codebase, which is based on Rust.

Robinhood Buys Back SBF’s Seized Shares Worth $600 Million

Robinhood, an American financial services company, last Thursday completed buyback of $606 million in seized shares that were once in the hands of FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, according to an SEC filing, following a court’s approval earlier in the week.

The shares were valued at $450 million when the U.S. Justice Department (DOJ) took custody of them in January. Just a month prior, Bankman-Fried was arrested and charged with over a dozen crimes related to the collapse of crypto exchange FTX last November. The founder has pleaded not guilty and awaits trial schedule for October.

FTX wallet shifts crypto, sparks token dump fear

Bankrupt crypto exchange FTX has moved $10 million worth of digital assets held in its wallet from the Solana network to Ethereum. The decision has sparked concerns that this could be a precursor to the beginning of a series of token dump amid the exchange’s bankruptcy proceedings.

According to data from blockchain analytics platform Arkham Intelligence, since Aug. 31, the FTX wallet has transferred $6.23 million worth of Ether and more than $4 million in altcoins.

These included $1.2 million of FTX Toke, $1.8 million worth of Uniswap , $1.3 million of HXRO (HXRO), $550,000 worth of SushiSwap and $260,000 worth of Frontier Token (FRONT) — which were all moved to another FTX wallet by way of the Wormhole Bridge.
