Global asset management powerhouse T. Rowe Price, overseeing $1.77 trillion in assets, has applied for a mixed digital asset ETF with exposure to top cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.
The proposed T. Rowe Price Active Crypto ETF, filed with the U.S. SEC, plans to hold between 5 and 15 cryptocurrencies, potentially including XRP, Dogecoin, Cardano, Avalanche, Shiba Inu, Hedera, Bitcoin Cash, Chainlink, Litecoin, and Polkadot. The fund will give the highest weightings to Bitcoin and Ethereum.
This filing comes as traditional finance firms increasingly explore token-based products amid rising investor appetite and a friendlier U.S. regulatory climate.
Firms like Fidelity, VanEck, and ProShares have recently proposed similar Solana and mixed crypto funds. The SEC is currently reviewing more than 90 such ETF proposals, highlighting the institutional push into digital assets.
