Standard Chartered Begins Bitcoin & Ethereum Custody Service in UAE
By Vishakha Thakur
Standard Chartered has turned new leaves by launching a digital asset custody service in the UAE, licensed by the Dubai Financial Services Authority at the Dubai International Financial Centre.
After focusing on Bitcoin and Ethereum, the bank now offers secure storage for a wider range of digital assets, with Brevan Howard Digital as its first client.
This move caters to institutional demand for safe, regulated digital asset services, aligning with the UAE’s balanced approach to digital assets and financial regulation.
CEO Bill Winters believes digital assets represent a fundamental shift in finance, not just a passing trend.
