Sleeping $137 Mn Bitcoin Whale Wakes Up
After sleeping for three years, a well-known Bitcoin (BTC) whale made an unexpectedly big move. A extraordinary transfer of 5,000 BTC, valued over $137 million, was made by Whale today.
1,000 BTC was moved to one new address, and 4,000 BTC was moved to another new address during the transaction. Both of these locations had never previously been identified as belonging to anyone.
It’s interesting to note that on June 23, 2020, the Poolin mining pool made the first transfer of 5,000 BTC. The whale only has 35.62 BTC remaining after this most recent behavior.
Examining the cryptocurrency wallets from which the whale transfers originated reveals that the new wallet holding 4,000 BTC has not been used in any other transactions.
Additionally, all of these currencies were forwarded to three different addresses by the bitcoin wallet from which 1,000 BTC were received. The wallet that contains the most of these addresses, 825 BTC, has done a ton more transactions and just sent $21 million worth of BTC to the address.
