Ripple has obtained a full Electronic Money Institution license from Luxembourg’s financial regulator, allowing the company to offer regulated payment services throughout the European Union.
This final authorization comes after Ripple successfully met all regulatory conditions following a preliminary approval last month.
With this license, Ripple can now offer its “Ripple Payments” product to banks, fintech companies, and corporate clients across all EU member states.
Luxembourg has robust and clear financial regulations. That is the reason it was selected as a strategic base. According to Ripple, this move aligns with the broader industry shift toward regulated, institutional services.
This latest milestone adds to Ripple’s growing global imprints, which include a recent license from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority.
Ripple currently holds more than 75 regulatory approvals worldwide. This makes it one of the most heavily regulated firms in the cryptocurrency sector.
Although a specific launch date was not declared, the Luxembourg license will serve as a primary foundation for the company’s growth strategy across Europe.
