Nasscom Releases Generative AI Guidelines
On June 6th, the National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) published a set of principles for defining frameworks for generative AI.
These guidelines seek to set consistent norms and processes for AI research, development, and responsible use in India. This is one of the country’s initial drafted principles for regulating AI, as firms and businesses rapidly utilise the technology.
Consultations with the technology industry, a multidisciplinary group of AI specialists, academics, and practitioners, as well as representatives from academia and civil society, were used to establish the draught guidelines.
The principles emphasise researchers’, developers’, and users’ obligations, emphasising the necessity of exercising reasonable prudence, foresight, transparency, and accountability.
Nasscom aims to promote awareness of the adoption of responsible AI guidelines, develop specific guidance for different use cases, and enhance the existing Responsible AI Resource Kit. It emphasizes the importance of promoting transparency and accountability through public disclosures of data and algorithm sources used for modeling.
