Transport Into Nightmarish Reality With ‘Survive Thanksgiving’

A mysterious ‘Thanksgiving-inspired’ killer terrorises and murders residents one by one; what appears to be random revenge killings is soon revealed to be part of a wider, deadly holiday plan. Will the town find the killer and survive the holidays…or will they end up as guests at his twisted holiday dinner table? You’ll find out on November 17th, when the film ‘Thanksgiving’ is released. But, why am I talking about a film here?

Sony Pictures and MeetKai have come up with an innovative idea to promote this film. They have designed a first-of-its-kind virtual gaming experience. Moreover, Survive Thanksgiving is the world’s first metaverse, designed to complement a theatrical film release.

Survive Thanksgiving, which was created on MeetKai’s metaverse platform, takes players to the next level of horror experience….a nightmare reality. Participants are brought face to face with a terrifying killer who has been terrorising residents, using infamous holiday themes via compatible VR headsets or any web browser on mobile or desktop devices. Survive Thanksgiving’s immersive setting provides three realistic 3D avatars for players to inhabit as they strive to escape…being a victim of the town’s killer, John Carver.

Users can walk the halls of Plymouth High School, engage with terrified Main Street residents, conquer challenges, and discover secret Easter eggs while exploring six classic locations featured in the film, unlocking new gamified player experiences.

Well, metaverse is being used for philanthropic activities too. Yes, In an effort to help save the world’s natural forests, Alwaleed Philanthropies, which is a Saudi Arabian NGO that initiates, supports, and collaborates on projects around the world, is hosting a virtual event on Decentraland.

Alwaleed Philanthropies and the World Scout Movement have joined forces to promote forest protection and environmental sustainability. Scouts from across the world, as well as the general public, have been invited to navigate through a virtual forest, learn about the repercussions of deforestation, and take part in the Metaverse’s first forest plantation event. Within the first three days, the Decentraland platform had 26,500 scouts and planted 610 trees.

Well, Metaverse Gaming Tokens such as Gala Games, Axie Infinity, Sandbox, and Decentraland have experienced a surge and significant growth recently with some increasing by as much as 16%.

Well, metaverse is also being used to accelerate bank’s digital asset advancements. Yes, the Nomura & Laser Digital Botanical Garden has been launched in The Sandbox metaverse by Laser Digital Holdings in collaboration with Nomura Holdings. The Nomura-Laser Digital experience is set in a Japanese botanical garden, symbolising the bank’s cultural history and commitment to sustainability. Visitors can meet avatars of senior Nomura and Laser Digital executives and complete tasks such as nurturing their own bonsai tree through 20 quests. Visitors can learn more about Nomura, Laser Digital, and their strategic investments and advancements in digital assets by scanning QR codes displayed throughout the garden.

Moving on,

Dubai-based metaverse project, Everdome, has released a metaverse-as-a-service product line, which aims to make the immersive platform more accessible for all. Spaces is intended to enable people with little or no technical skills to quickly create metaverse experiences that can persist for days, weeks, or even hours as a metaverse pop-up space. Everdome cited a McKinsey report as one of the reasons for the launch, stating that nearly 60% of consumers using the early version of the metaverse were excited about transitioning everyday activities to it, and 95% of business leaders expected the metaverse to have a positive impact on their industry within five to ten years.

an exciting update for all students as it is related to the future of education.

In a partnership with an award-winning interactive software business, the University of Salford’s MediaCity campus has created a 3D virtual environment. The ground floor of the campus has been digitally changed into a fully interactive Metaverse space in which students and lecturers can engage and construct new virtual places for teaching or presenting their work using game engine technology.
