Laos Prioritizes Blockchain Technology
The first Ministerial Conference on Blockchain 4.0 Digital Transformation reportedly took place in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on May 26. Blockchain experts and other authorities from the country’s main economic ministries attended the conference, which was organised by Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone.
The meeting’s major objective, according to a report from Singaporean software company MetaBank, was to use digital technology to hasten Laos’ digital transformation. It was notable for introducing the idea of Blockchain 4.0, highlighting the value of open collaboration, and promoting Laos as a driver and gainer of the developing global digital ecosystem.
MetaBank is a partner organization of the Laotian Ministry of Technology. The two organizations are planning to create a blockchain research and development center to support Laos’ Blockchain 4.0 initiative.
